The HB Little’s were hungry for some summer fun this week! So we decided to create our own adorably scrumptious HB KRISPIES! These under the sea cuties were a super easy, fun new spin on our usual Rice Krispy squares. In addition to the standard Rice Krispies ingredients we will list the few extras you will need.
- Sand Toys- (We used new ones, you can use the ones you have as the mix will not be in direst contact with the mold but either way they should be cleaned)
- Saran wrap
- Frosting
- Food coloring
- Piping bags/ decorating tips
- Candy eyes
- Red Hots
Lets dive in and check out how we made them!To make Rice Krispies, follow the directions on the back of your Rice Krispie box or you can click HERE.On a side note, learn how to make these sparkly mermaid tees HERE, and their shimmery starfish hair accessories HERE…While our Krispies were being made we had our little mermaids line the sand toys with saran wrap. As soon as the Krispies were mixed we scooped a generous amount into each sand toy and firmly pressed into all the nooks and crannies. We buttered up the girls hands to prevent the Krispies from sticking, though I do believe they would have loved to lick their fingers clean of any rouge marshmallow treats. After the molds were filled we placed them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to cool completely and harden. After being set we flipped all the molds onto a cutting board where they easily popped out. Peel off the saran wrap and you are ready to decorate! We picked a few colors of frosting for our under the sea critters along with some candy eyes and Red Hots for our octopus suckers! These cute girls had so much fun decorating their dolphin!I think this would have been perfect with a touch more frosting…… What do you think?Open wide Kate, sharing is caring! They must have been worried they weren’t going to get enough frosting from eating that dolphin. Perfection! This little guy was our favorite…Hope you and your little’s have fun making some of these tasty treats yourself! XOXO Jamie
