VALENTINE’S DAY is in 3 days! Even though… it’s not too late to throw the cutest neighborhood/ friend/ family Vday party ever! Every year we try to capture sweet Valentined themed portraits of our girls to frame and use as Valentines decorations around our houses. This year we thought it would be fun to share the love with our friends and neighbors and create a fun VALENTINES DAY PHOTO BOOTH PARTY that everyone would love. With 6 kids between us we wanted to keep it simple, stress free and very inexpensive. We pulled this DIY VALENTINES PHOTO BOOTH PARTY party off for around $20-$30! Everyone had a great time and went home with the most adorable photos of their kids!
We created these backdrops with oversized butcher paper we got at Lakeshore Learning Center for $8 for 12 feet. We cut the paper in half and created a vertical backdrop for the taller kids, and a horizontal backdrop that was perfect for wider groupings of friends or siblings. We gathered up our pink and red acrylic paint and covered these backdrops in LOVE. As you can see they weren’t perfect, but we loved all the imperfections, drips and brush strokes. You can be creative with these backdrops, use different colors or a different theme all together. The skies the limit.
PHOTO TIPS:
- Install backdrop in OPEN SHADE. This is the easiest light for everyone to shoot in and eliminates shadows and bright sun on your cutues faces.
- Invite guests to bring their own cameras. With all those Valentines you are already making for your kiddos this will save you time in having to get images out to all the party guests after the party.
- Collect all your red and pink hair bows, tutus and accessories from around the house as well as different sized stools, chairs for the moms to pose their kids on.
- For additional props, PARTY CITY and HOBBY LOBBY had the best heart wreaths, fun glasses and accessories to create the finishing touch to those already cute portraits. Most items were just around $1-$2 each!
We didn’t go crazy with food, but wanted some Valentine’s treats to make it fun. Trader Joes is always our go to for inexpensive adorable and great tasting goodies! This is what we ended up with…
MINI HEART COOKIESRASBERRY HEARTSGUMMY X’S & O’S (We may or may not have eaten most of these before the guests arrived…they are sooooo good!!!)(image via: https://www.traderjoes.com)
And for the cutest party favors ever… adorable portraits of the most adorable kiddos! Loving the Divas girls sweet smiles here…Here are my sweet Valentines! (lollipops are always a good addition to the prop pile even if they just help a grumpy baby stay in the picture)And missing some but here are a few images our friends sent us that they had captured of their beautiful babes! Such a fun simple get together with the sweetest memories captured.
